Subway’s efforts to alter its iconic sandwich menu, which has been an ambitious goal for the firm, are unlikely to ease down anytime soon. It has been revealed that the company would expand its Subway Series menu, which it says will provide the “best sandwiches in Subway history.” Six new artisanal sandwich choices have been introduced to the menu as of today and are now available at restaurants around the country.
Subway unveiled its Subway Series menu in July 2022, which included a variety of upgraded sandwiches made with “expertly crafted” meats, cheese, sauces, and vegetables. Because Subway had previously concentrated on build-your-own, customizable sandwiches rather than sandwiches with pre-determined components, this was a huge paradigm shift for the company’s brand.
The Subway Series’ original menu had twelve distinct sandwiches designed to emphasize the new & improved ingredients launched as part of the “Eat Fresh Refresh” campaign in 2021. Six more artisanal sandwiches have been added to the Subway Series menu, increasing the total number of selections to 18.
The Subway Series has all new four sandwiches: Sweet Onion Teriyaki, Italian B.M.T., Chicken & Bacon Ranch, and Spicy Italian. These sandwiches are improved versions of numerous menu favorites that have been popular for a long time. The revised versions’ titles have been drastically changed, making them distinguishable from the original releases.
For example, the revised Sweet Onion Teriyaki sandwich on the Subway Series menu is known as the “All-Pro Sweet Onion Teriyaki.” The Chicken and Bacon Ranch is dubbed the “Elite Chicken and Bacon Ranch,” the Spicy Italian as the “Hotshot Italiano,” and the revamped Italian BMT as the “Ultimate B.M.T.”
Subway has indicated that it has modified the elevated sandwiches to make them more “craveable.” As a result, the raised sandwiches retain some key components that were included in the original form. For example, the classic Spicy Italian, which may be tailored to the customer’s preferences, comprises Genoa salami and pepperoni, as well as the customer’s preferred cheese, veggies, and sauce. The enhanced “Hotshot Italiano” sandwich on Subway’s Artisan Italian bread features spicy pepperoni, Genoa salami, provolone cheese, jalapeño peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and a drizzle of MVP Parmesan Vinaigrette.
The “All-Pro Sweet Onion Teriyaki” sandwich is served on toasted Hearty Multigrain bread and has grilled chicken strips marinated in Subway’s Sweet Onion Teriyaki Sauce, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onions. While this is going on, the “Ultimate B.M.T.” is putting Genoa salami, spicy pepperoni, Black Forest ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and MVP Parmesan Vinaigrette on top of the Artisan Italian bread.
The “Elite Chicken & Bacon Ranch” sandwich, served on Artisan Italian bread, has rotisserie-style chicken, melted Monterey cheddar cheese, hickory-smoked bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and Peppercorn Ranch.
The final two Subway Series are entirely new additions to the Subway menu. The Pickleball Club is a toasted sub on Artisan Italian bread topped with thin-sliced Black Forest ham, bacon, American cheese, and a brand-new honey mustard sauce that is exclusive to this sub. Subway officially debuted the Pickleball Club in March. On the other side, there is the Teriyaki Blitz, a toasted sub made up of American cheese, green peppers, red onions, and beef marinated in Subway’s Sweet Onion Teriyaki sauce. It is served with hearty multigrain bread.
Because the chain has already had a lot of success with the special menu, the Subway Series makeover, which is the first since it was introduced last year, might be a profitable opportunity for the firm. Subway attributed the new signature sandwiches with helping to raise same-store sales by 8.4% in the third quarter of 2022. This spike happened many months after the Subway Series menu’s launch. And, in an announcement issued today on the expanded Subway Series menu, the company noted that it contributed to the record-breaking sales in 2022.
The Subway Series’ success reflects a broader trend of recovery for the sandwich brand, which has struggled in recent years. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the firm struggled to recoup profits, and since franchisees liquidated around 1,000 stores in 2021, the company saw a dramatic decrease in size. As part of a promising resurgence, Subway has announced plans to accelerate the construction of new locations in North America this year.
Furthermore, the firm recently announced that same-store sales in North America and worldwide climbed by double digits in the first quarter of 2023.Subway Just Launched 6 New Artisanal Sandwiches – Lush Salon Studio
